I just checked my snipes on several PSA 9 1969's. All I can say is wow!! Anyone who feels this set is not in demand simply does not understand the market for the set. At least 4 different bidders were over $100 for a Pop 9 (!) card. It went for $183.55!! image

The Ferraro went for a staggering $405 (it is a pop 1 though) with three people bidding $400+.

Lastly, the PSA 10 Nelson (We really wanted that card) went for $433. Our $275 snipe did not even go off.

Congrats to all the winners! Awesome sets all!

    I won three but got knocked around on the others. Congrats to the winners. As time goes by its harder to win the nines.

    The pop 1 of 9 is a bit misleading by the seller. The Perranoski was actually an "emblem visible" variation which is much scarcer than the blackened out varities. The real surprise was that the card sold for only $183 image

    The Dalrymple variation was at least double printed in the "catcher's position" when the variation occurred and that card fetched $400+. How many "emblem visible" variations of the Ron Perranoski card exists in PSA 9 is anyone's guess since PSA has royally messed up the labeling of these cards. When I purchased my "emblem visible" variation, I had to send it to PSA and point it out to them because it was characterized as a regular card. The PSA 9 "emblem visible" Ron Perranoski variation that Mickey's Sportscards won is the first correctly labeled variation that I have seen on the market in the last 5 years. Has anyone else seen another one in PSA 9?


    If you read the population report, you would even think the white letter variations are more plentiful than their regular counterparts!image

    That makes a lot more sense. I really could not understand the bidding on that card. If I knew it was a variation I might have bid on it myself.

    I recall seeing another one on eBay awhile back but it was mislabeled.

    I will finish the 65 set. I just bought 25 more 8's and 7 nines. I should be close to 91% now. I am not going to go for a super high rating on this one yet I plan just to finish and upgrade here and there but not pursue like my 68 set. I was going to try to get 8.5 on the 69's but I dont know now the competition is getting pretty strong so I will make a decision on that soon as backstop has just listed some more low pop nines.     I agree with you Dave on the '69s. The bidding has really gotten out of hand lately. I'm starting to consider putting my upgrade efforts on hold until the big players get the cards they want. I was paying $300 for unopened cello packs from '69 and now a single common is commanding that price or more. I think it will cool down but right now bidding is very strong.

    By the way, does anyone know 'nomarhunter' or 'homefieldadvantage'? They've been making strong bids for '69s but I don't see their sets on the registry yet. Maybe they're there but haven't worked their way up the list yet.

    I too am mostly on the sidelines with the low POP action of late.

    I will however encourage the winners of some of these cards in 9 to contact me if they have any 8's for sale that I need as a result of their good fortune. :-)

    Wow Ron is Homefieldadvantage that makes me feel better, I am glad the cards are going on the registry. I haven't a clue as to who is nomarhunter I do know he has some nice cards.

    There was some dealer called "Homefield Advantage". I have been the recipient of complaints from some irate customers. Consequently, I have had difficulty convincing that I am not the dealer they transacted business with in the past! image
