The Traders Retreat Rap Contest

I was over on TR when they had a rap contest. Like people would battle each other. And the winner went on to the next round. And they gave away prizes to the winner. I think it would be cool if we did some sort of contest like that here. Not neccessarily rap but a way that would get the site more active and not a hard way for collectors to get some free cards. I would be willing to donate some game used for it. Anyone think it's a good idea? LMK if you have any ideas on what it might be. Like a Poetry contest or something.

yeah, that would be great. i would highly be in favor of this. heck, each "rap battler" can put in a game used or auto (certain bv and sport) and winner of the entire thing keeps the jack pot.

the only problem is....well....i'd win!

no joke, kind of hard to believe, but i do this everyday in school. being a rapper and just freestylin' makes you pretty cool (whether you're good or just look like a fool), as long as you got the balls to do it...and you CAN'T loose!

Hehehe... by me being a partner in a record label, I "Could" have done something like that, but I separate music from sports hobby. As a matter of fact, one of the artist who is on our next double CD got signed by Jive and is on the "2 Fast 2 Furious" soundtrack (Track #14). He now goes by Dirt Bag (had to change his name). My business partner produced a couple of tracks for his new CD which doesn't drop til next year. Soon as I get rid of majority of my cards, I'll be back into autographs full time and may get a few extras for giveaways.

its the same thing... its just you normally look at poetry as being soft, but alotta rap has to do with bad stuff & it's usually w/ a beat, sometimes close to being sung.

Rediculous... we'll have a poetry contest and the verses can be about sports cards, maybe someone could BUY or verses from us, or we could SELL them... it's all about sports and the hobby so lets do it... I have a feeling Nas/PDub/whoever will be back.
