how much would this autograph baseball go for?

it is a circa 1994 game used foul ball from the southern international league. it has 16 signatures, but someone signed it twice, so there are really 17 sigs. that person isn't important (not big). the ball does contain sigs of shane spencer (former yankee) and derek jeter. let me know how much you think it may sell on ebay and to a local card shop dealer. thanks. also, the ball is kinda dirty because it is game used (foul ball). Jeter signed on the side.

without proper certification its hard to sell an item like that. If you wanted to get full value out of the
ball then you could send it to PSA/DNA. Even though they probably have as much of a clue
to its authenticity than you do, people will trust them! LOL

    Good Luck

  • the main auto is jeter, the rest with the ball is worth like $15 to $20. i just wanted to know cause i have never seen one of these before (or at least for like 6 months on ebay). i was just wondering. a jeter single signed is worth $175 (side panel, regular baseball, unauthenticated). people will therefore pay like 1/3 on ebay. i heard the ball could be worth $100+, but could it be worth $200+?

    so here are the choices:

    $100 to $125
    125 to 150
    150 to 175
    175 to 200
    or $200+?

  • Did you get this from winsarc? I was trying to trade for this ball or one just like it. I don't think it would sell for very much because it is a minor league team signed ball, you would really have to find the right person if you were planning to sell it. I almost traded $75-85 in cards for this or a very similar ball.
Looking for tobacco cards (T206, etc), 1960 Topps cards, autographs, dvds, coins, plus more
  • I'd say selling wise without COA; you'd get close to $100. But that's a maybe; and a big one at that. Best thing to do is send it to PSA/DNA (look in very top right-hand corner of your screen) and get a COA with it. Then you'll get more.

Southern International League? Southern League is AA, International League is AAA.
  • my bad, it is southern league AA, not international

the thing is that if i send it to psa to get it authenticated, i would have to pay $75 plus shipping. that means i need to sell the ball at $175+. without the coa, i could sell the ball easily at $100 ish. i think the best thing would be to sell it and have a reserve at $100. what do you think?

hehe when did Jeter play in Southern League? I'm in a Southern League city (Tennessee Smokies).
  • that's sweet, yeah i live 20 minutes from the richmond braves (AAA). pretty sweet. i actually like columbus clippers (yankee AAA affiiliation).

he might have played in 1993, there are cards of jeter showing him in a greensboro hornets uniform (north carolina).

search on ebay: jeter greensboro, you'll find 10 or so hits with pretty much the same card (I think there are 3 different ones, but one of them is more common).

Yankees never had a Southern League team in the 90's image.

Even with psa/dna certification, I doubt it would ever sell for more than $125. W/O certification I think it would bring $40-$50 at most.

Greensboro is with "South Atlantic League (A)". Southern League is AA.
  • i wouldn't pay more than 25. lol i would go for a cert auto from ud or something of that nature but i don't think that ball would bring more than 40
  • I agree with 49ersfan and VC the ball would fetch 40-60.00 without a cert probably less

  • multi-signed balls go for even less. I listed a 1998 Southern League multi-signed ball from a Knoxville Smokies vs. Huntsville Stars game that has autos from Tim Hudson, Ramon Hernandez, Eric Dubose, and Chris Woodward (all currently in the majors), and a few prospects who has RCs in 98, 99... with a minimum bid of $9.99 and no bids. Even included the lineup sheets from the game that has the players marked off after they signed. So, don't expect too much.
