How long do all of you wait....

before you start worrying and going crazy about the cards you paid for with Paypal ( +190.00) for your Ebay auctions not arriving in a timely manner? He or she has not sent me a email address that he shipped,and he hasn't left feedback yet. It's been long enough , but I am going to give it three more days.

As a five year vetran of eBay, my advice is to :
keep accurate records, then, sit back and relax.

Your chances of dealing with a crook on eBay,
are way less than your chances of dealing with a crook in 'real life' ...

Got to agree with Wolfbear...

Don't forget, just because you paid with Paypal doesn't mean that your card will be in the mail the following day. I've dealt with a few folks that only go to the post office once a week!

And if your item is coming from Canada???? The last two cards that I received took 8 and 11 weeks respectively!!! Both were sent out within a day or two of them receiving my cash. I think the border patrol holds them in quarantine for a while!!!

I generally don't start hounding them until its 3 or 4 weeks overdue. But... I do send out a note (just as an fyi) that it still hasn't arrived each week.

I had some automated software I was playing with that sent an email every 7 days informing the seller of the lack of arrival of our cards. It was not a big hit with some of the sellers. A few were actually offended. All in all though, I think it is a good idea.

Yeah, you have to realize that most sellers on EBay are just regular people with regular jobs with regular busy things going on in life. Most sellers don't check their email twice daily and make a rush to leave feedback and go to the post office daily. Most of the big sellers do but that's because they do it for a living and don't have a regular job to interfere with their Ebay sales. Just about all of the people on these boards sell stuff on Ebay sometimes and just about all of us have regular jobs that sometimes tie us up. Usually though, your product should reach you within 2 weeks of payment if they are in the same country. For anything longer than that, then they are just being lazy.

And don't forget if you paid via paypal but it came from your checking account the funds won't go to the seller for 3-5 days. Most buyers don't realize that paypal is not instant unless the source of funds is a credit card. Paypal specifically sends an email saying do not ship until they clear the payment, which can take as long as a week if a bank holiday is mixed in there.
That being said I'll agree that your chance of being stiffed is just about nil, especially if its someone with a feedback greater than 10. If its been a couple of weeks you might drop them an email to make sure the post office didn't lose it.

I too get in a hurry sometimes...And I get behind as well. I had to mail a package ...had to work o.t couldnt make it for 3 days....went to mail it on a SAT I got off work 1/2 hour befor it closed..didnt make it ...went to use the scales didnt work...went to another P.O> the scale was missing.......my point is things happen soemtimes.........

Paypal from the checking account CAN BE instantaneous as long as you have a credit card on file with them that backs it up. By having the credit card, it guarantees your checking $'s. This way, if the account has insufficient funds, it will charge the credit card.
