..WELL ILL TELL YA MINE,ive bought like 8 of those things, all bkb from toys r us and pulled NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL, ok maybe im going a little harsh, everyones like youll get your time to pull somthin, WHEN LORD WHEN, lol, well i have thought about saving my money for a while then goin out and buyin like three from target then 2 or so from Toys R Us, if you could just post what you have pulled from those $9.99 boxes w/ 8 assorted packs from one sport, that would be great, thnx,

i bought a box like them 1 and pulled a jamaal mashburn-01-02 upper deck ovation auto and warm up it was nice but i trade dit now i bought that 1 in new york then i bought 3in texas and got a kenyon martin 00-01 fleer glossy traditonal threads game used and a jason kidd 01-02 fleer premium solid performers game used so that what i pulled lately oh and i pulled a tim thomas-01-02 topps xpectations auto!!

Those things are hit and miss. I have bought a few football mixed pack boxes. The newer retail packs with inserts to prevent pack feelers have been better for me. I have pulled like 6 or 7 jerseys from them. My best pull was a Tim Couch autographed jersey card from a pack of 2001 UD Vintage. Anyway, they are great cheap way to rip a few packs. Better luck in the future.

i havent done good on the Taget stuff $9.99 eather so i started buying the $13.99 & $19.99 boxs of one brand that has 5-8 packs depending on the brand...did ok...

I'll tell ya if you ever pull anything from those boxes then consider yourself extremely lucky. You wanna know the secret behind those packs...they are the leftovers from boxes that already had the good stuff pulled from. Someone had a brilliant idea and decided to start this. The first company to do this would take all the leftover packs after they pulled everything good and stuck them in the 8 pack deals and stuck a $9.99 price on them. Now there is about 10 companies that do this. It's a huge money maker. They know their not giving up anything and getting $10 bucks a pop. They know if the customer knew what was inside before purchasing them, they wouldn't get $10 bucks for the boxes. This way they get to keep the good stuff and make money off the crap. Pretty good idea.

Got a Ray Allen SP rc, this nice Iverson insert from Ultra that feels like a leather bound book cover. I also got a 95-96 Collector's Choice German pack that had all these rookies. I got Garnett and Wallace German rookies, pretty nice for a cheap box.

I bought like 5 in 1 night and got CRAP....But can't Complain, I pulled my FIRST GU out of one of those..........A 2001 AL Centinnial Cal Ripken GU jrsy! :-D (but thats only 1 good thing out of about id say 50 box's I have bought!) hehe, I buy like 3-4 eveytime I go to my Grandmas!

99-00 Black Diamond Paul Pierce triple ball card numbered to 25. BV in 1999, $200.00.
Thats the only GU card I ever got from a retail box.

instead of spending $80 on 8 retail Toys R Us boxes you could've spent that on ebay getting some nice stuff. Game Used cards are a dime a dozen.. I bet you could've bought 30-40 jersey cards for the prices you paid for 8 boxes of junk

I've done fairly well with those assorted boxes. Some highlights:

2001 Finest Barry Bonds AU
00-01 Topps Antaawn Jamison AU
97-98 UD Star Attractions Gold Michael Jordan
a couple jersey and bat cards (nothing spectacular, which must be why I can't remember which players I got

)

It's not all doom and gloom, but going for the best packs you can find is a good idea (notable exception: for whatever reason 2002 Showcase and EX hobby baseball packs must have been super-easy to search because I've seen nothing from those when bought in an assortment

)

I remember pulling an Autographed Malone jersey out of 00-01 Pros and prospect, which at least
for now dispells the rumor of pack searching, but why would anyone now a days buy something
that has the possibility of being searched?

I think you will find a big difference between what people are pulling out of the single toysrus packs
and the retail 9.99/19.99....boxes. One is from the factory and the other is from a secondary
"card smart" dealer.

Anyone notice how easilty searchable UD glass is?

You can get something good on eBay for your $10-$30 that you would spend on the packs. It is better to just buy a nice auto on eBay than to buy those packs.

i bought a lot of those boxes and i never pulled a au or gu. i did however pull a mystique swift rc which booked $40 at the time.

i just go to meijer and buy single packs cause im a cheapo and i get my nice cards...

01-02 e-x credentials kobe bryant/39 bv=$120
01-02 fleer force special forces michael jordan bv=$100....

all i did was go and pick out one or 2 packs and got those...sounds like im gettin much better profit off just 2 packs for 5$ when you pay $10 a pop for junk

I've pulled a Vince Carter auto bv-$100, Baron Davis floor/film, and a Chris Mullin Jersey that also booked $100. But since I've pulled those I haven't been able to pull anything else good for a while.

Best pull was a couple of years ago in a $10 box.

1997-98 UD Diamond Vision Jordan Reel Time--super rare pull.
I know that it did book for $250 to $300.

Should check and see where it's at now.

Last time we got a box of $9.99 hockey & we pulled an Auto. It was
a Bowmans Best of Jamoir Jagr; which is kind of rare in that he doesn't do alot of autos.Great card of a great player.
We also pulled a essential credentials red #d Cal Ripken; very sweet card of a great player.CJ also pulled a bat card out of one of those packs a while back also.
We like to get those cheap boxes once in a while between our box rips; kind of takes care of our rip needs until we can get the nicer stuff in.

My best pull out of one of those boxes (football) was 2 game used. The problem was, they had to be of james jackson and jessie armstead
