What do you guys think of Leland's

I have never placed a bid with them..but have received their catalog in the past (very nice). For those who have dealt with them what do you think of their service, auction policy, etc ?

Here are their terms of sale:

I would appreciate any feedback that you could share.

Always nice stuff, no problems, but I stopped dealing with them due to the fact that I never liked the 15% premium.

Just remember they usually overgrade by one grade on the raw material. Or at least they have on the auctions I have won. image

They do a good job with what they have. I've consigned a few things with them, even the 100+ World Series Ticket Lot (1930's-present)--does anybody remember that one. I didn't like the 15% hammer fee like somebody wrote...and to be honest with you, I'd try Mastro's auction first - they seem to get higher prices. If Mastro's declines your stuff (which they do), then go do Lelands. And, buyers, you can get better buys at Lelands....which is why most of the good stuff is consigned to Mastro's.
    But just my opinion.

    THANK YOU SportsModerator for
    MAKING MY POINT FOR ME!

Suffice to say - if you go to Lelands and
    search for DOORS memorabilia
    or Tracy Lords memorabilia
you will see the "Edited" things
that Leland's chooses to deal in
    that is just sick!

    Avoid these guys.

    Jeff (BigKid)-

No offense...but were you not the person that sent me and others a link to see FULLY NUDE pictures of Tiger Wood's girlfriend?

I would say that Playboy magazine is a piece of Americana....not sure about Traci Lords though.

OK Big Kid....I got the link.

That picture is pretty funny though...the drawing by Morrison looks like it was done by a 8th grader going through puberty.

It is kind of over-the-top....I have to admit.

I dealt with Lelands at the Boston Garden Auction and thought they did a really good job. Lots of press coverage, nice catalogues, organzied auction. The "garage" sale that they ran the next day was a mess but the auction itself was very good. I would think they are probably good for "odd ball" type memorabilia.
