What kind of toning...

Here's a Morgan dollar with a strange toning pattern on the reverse. That side of the coin is mostly shades of gold, but has sky blue toning in the shape of a cross. The obverse is blue and purple with a gold rim. What would cause the cross pattern on the reverse?

    If I remember correctly, that was the end coin in a folded roll. The way that the end was folded over caused it. Hope that helps, Ken

    Of course it could be a sign of divine intervention.

    Kind of neat and interesting ,now matter how it was made.

    I would call that coin the "Sacred Dollar", and I would keep it for a sign

    That coin appears to be a envolope toned piece. If the coin was obverse up then the reverse would have been touching the folds of the envolope. some have a cris crossing of folds. Just my 2 cents
