Sounds about right. I noticed eBay had a PCI SMS69DCAM with a BIN of about $170.00. There was a second one with a high bid (at the time- last night) of $130.00 or so.
It'll probaby loose the "D" in DCAM with PCGS and a couple of points.
I was watching that coin, as was PhillyJoe. I downloaded and analyzed the scans and concluded that I could go up to $50 on it. If I remember correctly, I think it went for substantially more. I think PCGS will grade it 67CAM.
Thank you. I give-up on $200. I did the same thing and conclude that problaby the DCAM condition is not true (at least to PCGS), and not justify the risk to try a cross. My expectation was to reach a 66DCAM but you are right. Will be dificult to keep the Deep Cam grade.
Once again, thanks.
By the way you saw the 1968 PR70DCAM sold on Saturday?
Yep, I was watching that one. I think it would have brought much stronger money if it would have had decent images and a seller that actually had some eBay history. As it is, I'm surprised it brought as much as it did considering the risk of buying a coin like that from a new seller. I hope it was done through escrow.
Just to confirm your point, I sent 4 messages to buyer, asking about the possibility of pay by escrow or COD and asking for better scanners. No answers. I hope the buyer protect himself with some guarantee. If the guy was a little more "communicative" and I'm inclined to pay a little more than the last bid. Let's go to the next...
I also tried contacting him on numerous occassions and received NO replies. That's why I stopped at about $1300. I hope it was an honest deal and that new fellow learns some tricks/tools of the trade and maybe he'll come up with some other nice coins. Ray
You only live life once, enjoy it like it's your last day. It just MIGHT be!
