Vick did something his 2nd year not much his 1st, but his card did not start going up till his 2nd year. I have no clue why Carr is loved, I think it is just because his draft and the new team?

I would not pay that much for him! As far as I can see, he is no better then Chris Weinke!

Don't waste your money on that guy! Hondo you should sell it on ebay if that is what they are getting for those card!

people want carr for the same reason they wanted couch and ryan leaf. top qb draft picks with potential. hopefully carr doesnt blow up in their faces. ( i think harrington is the better option)

Whats the difference why people want the card? If they want it... they want it. IF people are collecting him, then whats the big deal? He shows potential, and some people see it as perhaps a good investment. Thats their choice, so let them collect who they want... and worry about what you collect.

so why dont we all start trading cards at ebay prices instead of bv.....so if anyones got a jordan rc bv 1,000.....i'll trade you for it at around $300-500....thats what they sell fer on tha bay...thats a helluva lot better...i mean god forbid we trade at bv just because alot of people are willing to pay over book for a card.....maybe we should start emailing people on ebay asking themn if they will trade the card they are trying to sell.....that way....everybody can screw everybody else.......this is whats wrong ith collecting now...people wanting to trade cards at ebay prices....but NEVER wanting to PAY ebay prices.....frickin pathetic......ya gripe and moanwhen you aint got a card to trade to get what ya want ...then when ya ask how much would you sell it for and you give them a ebay price.....you all go frickin crazy....why not just get out of collecting before you ruin it ?

I totaly agree with cardnyou! If it is a acrd you want to trade and there is nothing unique about it like #ed to his Jersey or 1/1 patch, then I really don't care what they sell for on ebay! And if you guys have not noticed, Hondo is not a collector but makes part of his living off of cards! I will bet he got that card for $75-$100.

How is this the big Deal! You don't really think Hondo is going to give someone a deal, do you? LMFAO If he want to give deals and help out traders he would have traded me the card I wanted instead of selling it! Like I said he is in it for the money not the Hobby, But that does not make him a bad guy, just a buisness man thats all!

What's wrong with trading at eBay prices? That's what the cards actually sell for, unlike those crazy Beckett ones. Give me ONE good reason why beckett's prices are better (when trading)?

Because since there is not just one Book everyone goes by, all use the most POP, being Beckett, 90% of traders use this as a guide line for pricing, that is why! If you want to go by ebay prices that is not right. The cards that sell vary, I seen 4 of the same card sell for Different prices, 1 sell for $102, 2 sell for $164, $98, $113 so tell me what BV do you use? Do you pick the highest 1 because it is high, of course you would if you were the one that had it for trade!

So that is why you can't use ebay pricing for Trade BV!

Give him a year or so, a decent line, some recievers, and a decent running game and he'll be the man. Regardless-- anyone who collects cards should know that potential sells better than talent

I agree that Beckett sucks, but it's the only guide out there. If a card books for $100 and sells for $200, obviously i'd make someone give me much more than the $100 BV in trade, and if i were trying to trade for that card i'd be willing to give more than $100 in BV for it. Along the same lines, there are a lot of $100 BV cards out there that can be bought for $10-20, so i would not give $100 BV in trade for a card that i could buy for $20.

I think Beckett is a good guide, but if the card sells for significantly more or less than BV then i would ask the person with that card to adjust how much in BV he's looking for or i'd move on.... it's that simple

CardnYou---- I dont think you understand the point here... If I had a Jordan Rookie and they are selling for 300-500 on ebay.. I would want something I can SELL for 3-500$ Not 3-500 BV like you are talking.. I am not sure if you are talking about me when it comes to the griping and moaning about not wanting to pay ebay prices or whatnot... I obviously pay ebay prices for the cards I think will sell for more next season or in a few seasons... On stuff I plan on listing on ebay now I would be stupid to pay ebay prices

I would take off the listing fees and ebay fees to anyone who wanted to buy this card so if it sold for 250 and I sold through an email or on here I would sell it for about 230-235$ Also you are contradicting yourself by agreeing with Jaime about trading at Beckett Value for almost any card..then when JErik says if a card books 100$ and sells for 200$ you should trade more for it... so which one is it??? trade at BV or EBAY?? ALSO if you have any cards that arent to special like no 1 of 1's or not numbered to jersey number and are selling 2-3x BV let me know... I will trade you BV for them all day.

As for this particular card... I was just asking if anyone wanted to make an offer. Could be a die hard Carr collector here that wanted a real shot at it. Not a lot of people posted last night so I listed it.

I do agree that in the future Carr will be a decent QB..but still $250 for a Carr auto is rediculous cause its such a gamble. Right now people are sayin he will be good in five years, when about most of the team has aged alittle. It is still the coulda shoulda woulda, its all a gamble with rookie stuff. The way I see it is I would never spend that type of money on something that could go from selling or booking around $250 to $50 in a year.

And as long as you dont care if you make money selling sportscards and like just breaking even (most of the time when you do trade or sell stuff) then keep at it. To make money you have to take a few risks in this business. To each his own brother. See, I wouldnt be happy buying a legend now for 100$ and keeping it for 2-3 years and selling the same card for 100$... Some people are which is cool, just not me
