Michigan State & Purdue may be garbage Big 10 teams, but Sam Houston State has a completely different type of smell.
we're talking about a CUSA team that went 2-10 last year, lost by 8 touchdowns to Texas and gained 100 yards in that game. if they played either Purdue or Michigan State, they'd lose by multiple touchdowns. which makes those rankings so very entertaining. it's as if the creator deliberately stuck them beneath SHSU so that they could also stick anyone and everyone associated with those two schools with a hot poker and royally piss them off. no one who doesn't have an axe to grind would ever rank them directly beneath Sam Houston St, i assure you.

Don’t get bent outta shape - preseason rankings are for people who ride the bus.

TCU UNC game is worth watching and thats mostly that its funny if Belli loses. NC State and UVA too and Memphis UNLV will likely have playoff implications for the group of 5 team

Maybe time to get rid of week 0. All the games have sucked so far

Week 0 is just an appetizer, even week 1 doesn't have any great games unless LSU vs Clemson turns into a good game

Looking ahead to Saturday I see Ohio State will be playing perennial powerhouse Ball State!! I wonder if they score 70?? The biggest take away in preparation for Week 2 and the trip to Texas is will there be any significant injuries. 😇

It is his personality, he did the same thing when he was HC in Cleveland and it turned the media against him almost immediately. Early on he received positive coverage with stories about his dedication, long hours and attention to even the smallest detail. Had he been more personable and engaging with the press corps he'd have had them on his side and his tenure with the Browns may have been better and longer. He chose gruff.

Belichick was the polar opposite of an earlier Browns HC, Sam Rutigliano. His post game press conferences were "must watch" TV and the media loved him.Once, after a tough loss, a reporter tried to bait him. In his typical disarming fashion Coach Rutigliano said something like "There are 2 billion people in China that don't care that we lost today" which got laughter and his message was clear --- The Browns can't dwell on the loss, we have to start preparing for next week.

Sam Rutigliano is still a much loved man by most Cleveland Browns fans, Bill Belichick not so much. I think I'll go watch some Kardiac Kids highlights.

If Ball State was to pull out an upset win Saturday,(highly unlikely) it wouldn't be their first win against a BIG opponent.

OSU is over a 50 point favorite. Teams struggle to cover that but OSU has serious issues and there are no excuses if they lose that game

Bama isnt the Saban Bama anymore. They brought in a west coast coach and was absolutely the wrong hire. Bama better figure out thats not the right guy pretty quickly with Kiffen now at LSU and unlimited resources basically

As a Big Ten fan I think it’s quite interesting. That Conference sort of snuck up on the SEC. Only 2-3 years ago all you heard was “The Big 10 is Ohio State and Michigan and a bunch of cupcakes.” Now it’s Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.

How did that happen??

Did he not put James Madison on the map though?

The shuffling of conferences over the years adding Penn State and Oregon to the BIG reshaped the competition, one could argue that Cignetti happened to Indiana as well

I'm all for competition, I don't like or dislike Ohio State but it's good to see them fighting for the BIG top spot

Back to Cignetti, he was resigned, willingly or not, to being a career Assistant Coach. All I'm saying is that the schools where he's been HC prior to Indiana are the kind of sacrificial lambs that the big teams play, what I mockingly call The Little Sisters of the Poor. After almost 30 years as an assistant if Cignetti was going to get the call he should have already gotten it to join a top program. I don't know what held him back but he's sure taken advantage of this opportunity.
