How long is he out for? Crutches don't sound good.
20th walk-off since the start of his career. That is 5 more than anyone else during that period.
Additionally, he is closing in on a monumental milestone. Freddie currently has 974 extra-base hits. If he continues his pace, he will become only the 40th person in MLB history to reach 1000 extra-base hits with a solid chance of reaching the top 10 in history before his career is over.
He just got hit number 2500 and has a legit chance for 3000.. He is 23 HRs away from 400. He is 37 doubles away from becoming the 19th player ever to hit 600 doubles. He also is closing in on 1500 runs and 1500 rbi's for his career.
He's clutch, has numerous memorable moments, a three-time World Series Champion, an MVP and a WS MVP, and the career number that put him with the legends of the game.
Absolute legend!
Impressive. Health will be the key or a strike next year could derail the path for those numbers advancing.
He is a HOFer in my book. I fear that a prolonged strike/lockout will keep him from reaching 3k hits, but he doesnt need that for the hall. with his playoff resume and regular season stats, he has done enough.
I think he is 2nd all time in games played at 1b as well? I believe only Eddie Murray has played more 1b than Freddie.
Freddie and Eddie, 2 pretty similar players!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Craig I think that’s a good comparison especially from a consistency point of view. Both put up good to great numbers year after year. I agree already a Hall of Famer. I dislike the Dodgers but it is fun to watch him hit.
He could retire right now and be in the Hall of Fame, but he does have a chance to hit some special milestones.
His numbers are pretty similar to Steve Garvey except walks & strikeouts. It still astonishes me how one's career WAR can be ~75% higher due to having an additional walk every 4th game (WAR - 66.1 to 38.1) - yet striking 45% less frequently.
No doubt, Freeman is a better player but I have a hard time buying into the WAR difference.

Looks like a sure thing to me...
I’ve got a good feeling.
