Laser Removes Ink From A $2 FRN(U.S. $2 Bill) Any Sports Cards Concern?

Over in the CU U S. And World Currency Forum is an interesting video. A laser removing ink from paper money. Should us card collectors fear it's potential nefarious use on trading cards? I can think of one card I would not want to see this capability put to use.
Thoughts?

Wouldn't removing the name on that card you're referring to also remove the blue background behind it?

Which card are you referring to? Sorry, I am out of the loop…

I have no idea how the process works. All I know is what the video showed. Did you see the video I referred to in my post?

There are myriad numbers of cards which present quite nicely other than small print dots or stray ink on the surface which presumably causes them to be downgraded by professionals. If there's a way to safely remove those flaws from a card surface to improve its appearance without detection, I'm certain it will get done, if not being done already.

The Thomas no name on front, would be a good guess.

It would be interesting to see how it works on a Frank Thomas Topps card.

I'd hope the grading companies could decipher this result if this process was used.
