Please Help Identify Baseball Player In Photo

Hello,
I would appreciate any assistance in identifying the baseball player in the photo. AI software speculated Dimaggio, I do not see it. It came from a collection of many celebrities photographed in Hawaii. Thank you in advance

    This is what I got....

This vintage photograph shows a baseball player from Luke Field, an early military airfield located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

The "LUKE" lettering on the jersey refers to the military base. In the early 20th century, especially during the 1920s and 30s, military service teams were a major part of the baseball scene in Hawaii.

The Location: Luke Field was shared by the Army and Navy until 1939, when the Army moved its operations to Hickam Field.

The Team: These service teams often featured talented players, including some with professional experience, who played in local leagues like the Hawaii Baseball League.

To perhaps further identify the gentleman in the photo, some additional research could help if you can find a roster from a certain team which included a pitcher named Lefty.

  • I will give it a try. Thank you
