Trying to Sell Off the Herd!!

Past time that I sell off the vast collection that I have.
.
I was thinking that I would see if silver would pass the $100 mark again, but that metal makes no sense, up when I think it's going down, down when I think it should go up.......
.
For those of you still around for about 2 decades ago, I was very active back then.
You can take a look at my collection at 'ajia'.
I have many dupes, and lower grade coins that are in that collection.
.
Let me know if you are looking for something in particular & I'll see what I have.
MOST of what I have are NOT going to be key dates, or super high grades.
Those went back when I first stopped collecting about 15 years ago.
.
I do have a lot of raw coins though, with some better dates.
.
PS- You're not going to get an answer if you ask, "How much for all of it".....or maybe I'll just say $1M.
Too time consuming to go through it all at one time!!

Sorry guys, see if it works now.
It's only a video of the PCGS boxes I have, labeled by denominations.
Pretty boring, but gives an idea of all the PCGS GRADED coins I have.
    Many more raw ones too!!!

How are you determining your prices?

  • ajiaajia Posts: 5,411 ✭✭✭

I will average eBay SOLD prices.
If there are a lot of them, probably throw out the high & low.

That's at least a starting point.
I doubt that I would go with blue sheet.

I mean, I not selling for way under what they are selling on eBay.

eBay sold is usually full retail, so you might want to consider at least 20% lower than eBay sold because to sell on eBay you are going to incur a lot of fees plus the time, shipping cost, risk, etc.

eBay is not really full retail for auction items. Buy It Now items may be retail, maybe not always, though. I know of plenty of dealers who will bid on eBay to buy inventory to mark up. Also, saying to price at least 20% lower than eBay is ridiculous. eBay fees are not 20 percent.

I stand by what I said for the items shown in the video. If you’re selling gold eagles or silver dollars, -20% isn’t necessary. But selling Washington quarters and Jefferson nickels in generic grades, absolutely -20%. And I never said eBay fees were 20%.

My access was denied when I tried clicking it last night. I just watched it, and yes, I agree with you. Based on the verbal communication in the video, it appears to be mostly "stuff". So, yeah, one needs to be at least 20 percent below eBay sales to make it worth while.

eBay fees are typically about 17% in my experience...

IMO pricing somewhere between seller net and sold prices is very fair for all.

My goodness, you do have a collection. Gonna open up a good bit of real estate in the house when these are gone.

Re: the .pdf list, are the green highlighted coins gone now?

Just remember...the advice you receive on the site is worth every bit of what you paid for it.

I guess it all depends on how fast one would want to move these.

From my communications with the seller on 1 coin he seems in no hurry.
