Is it possible to fingerprint a coin so that it can be recognized by Artificial Intelligence pattern recognition without needing a slab with a barcoded ID Number? We are routinely using AI facial recognition for passport control, and bio-metrics on our cellphones for security.
Yesterday I upload this coin to google AI

And it identified it correctly as a New Zealand Florin, which, considering the size of the Common Wealth, I thought was amazing and it took me by surprise. It knew some of it by design subtleties, but it depended on overall non-design qualities, like letter spacing, it nail it as a Florin and within 2 years.
