I made a BIG error! There is a very thin scratch on the obverse and reverse of the holder. However, they show prominently in the GC “Great Photo” (NOT Phil’s fault). As we know, GC will not indicate the scratches are on the holder and not the coin. They also don’t show PCGS True View’s. I should have first sent the coin back to PCGS to get it reholdered. As a result of my error, this coin will likely hammer for a LOT less than it normally would, as many potential bidders will erroneously think the scratches are on the coin!

SOLD for $1,561 including bp on Great Collections is this 1951 Franklin 50C graded PR67+ by PCGS.

  2. The PCGS Price Guide is at $2,600.
  3. This coin is blast white and super lustrous!

  1. On GC, no sales at all since over 5 years ago, and the two sold then had "rusty" toning. The last sale on GC without rusty toning was almost 7 years ago in June 2019, and that one sold for $2,306. Back in June 2019, when that nice one was sold for $2,306, the PCGS Price Guide for 1951 PR67+ was only $1,850. As noted above, it is currently $2,600.

These 1951 Proof Franklins graded PR67+ by PCGS that merit a CAC sticker don't come up that often. I suggest you do your own pricing research.
