LordM Giveaway #138 (2026 FUN show Mystery Prize)
Contest status: OPEN
Drawing: pending; on or after 1 February 2026
Winner: pending
Shipping status: pending
Winner's receipt: pending

Hello, folks, and welcome to my 2026 FUN show Mystery Prize giveaway (Collectors Universe Edition)!
You see, along with my intrepid travel companion Randy Abercrombie, I will be attending the 71st annual (2026) Florida United Numismatists (FUN) show in Orlando, just like we did last year. And as before, I intend to make a spectacle of it, and do a live report (on CoinTalk) of my walkthrough on the bourse floor, with lots of pictures!
While I am at the show, I will purchase a prize coin for this giveaway. As of this initial writing, not even I know what that prize will be! So it will be fun to see what I can find.
To enter this contest:
Simply post a suggestion as to what you'd most like to see in a coin prize costing $50 USD or less. The final prize selection will be up to me, of course, but I will read all your suggestions and keep them in mind as I walk the floor at the show. After the show is over, I will reveal the prize I bought, (edit: prize revealed below- scroll down!) but we will keep the contest open for entries until on or after February 1, 2026, at which time we'll have the random drawing to see who won the prize.
Naturally I will be wearing my world-famous Holey Coin Hat to the show. Here is a picture of me at the 2025 show:

There is a parallel giveaway on CoinTalk (just like this one, but with a different prize), so if you are a member on that site, you may enter that contest as well by posting over there.

Thanks for a chance- Love the hat! Hmm, prize suggestion: A pair of Lincoln cents from 2025, to mark the end of an era.
Since this is the Semiquincentennial of America, but too early for the coins, how about a PCGS slabbed (because that is what I collect) Bicentennial coin?
“Semiquincentennial” is such a great word, isn’t it?

(20) 1976 $2 bills. I know, not a coin. Have fun at FUN.

My suggestion would be a pcgs graded WLH. Best you can afford for $50.

Cool contest! One suggestion is something more obscure, like a world coin from a country not often mentioned on the forums or a token with an interesting design.
A nice looking shield nickel.
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
How about a seated liberty quarter?
I will suggest a war nickel and a steel cent.

A seated dime love token… on reverse please

With JFK's Granddaughter Passing , How about a 1964 accented hair half dollar
Thank you in advance !
I suggest a Silver Proof State Quarter, graded PR70DCAM by PCGS. Those blinding bright white super lustrous silver proof coins look amazing! Every reverse design is different, with a story and history to be learned!
Most of those can still be bought for less than $50, despite the current silver price. Perhaps one from YOUR state? Who knows - it might even spur the winner of the giveaway to start collecting that series, each coin graded PR70DCAM. The entire 50 coin complete set in Silver PR70DCAM can probably be obtained for about $3,000 or so, maybe less (my guess).
I’m looking forward to meeting you next week.
Steve
My collecting “Pride & Joy” is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set:

How about the best grade Barber half you can get for the $50 limit?
I like the suggestions for a Seated Liberty coin (whatever denomination) or a nice Shield nickel.
That said, how about an ancient Roman coin?

+!. Thank you very much for the giveaway and dedication to the forum!

Got one, for my hat. If you win the drawing, I’ll let you have it.

Based on the Seated Liberty suggestions, I have our prize coin.
We will leave the contest open for entries until February 1st, and then we’ll have the random drawing.
The winner will receive this 1877-S Seated Liberty half (with nice CircCam contrast!), and a prooflike 2026 FUN medal.
If for some reason the winner doesn’t want this particular prize lot, then he/she may choose something else from my regular giveaway inventory:

That’s pretty cool! I would have suggested a certified Roman piece, probably a later one at that price point.
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
Cool giveaway, thanks for the chance. The Seated Liberty Half would be great!
I think that Seated half is a $75-ish coin (I haven’t looked it up). So perhaps a tiny bit above and beyond the original stated <$50 ceiling. But when my buddy Randy heard I was just gonna give it away, he up and gave it to me! So thanks to Randy Abercrombie (he’s a CoinTalk guy), we’ve got a slightly better prize.

A beautiful proof set! But anything works! 😉
I think a cool giveaway prize would be a new roll of 2026 Eisenhower$, Kennedy Half$, Washington Quarter$, Roosevelt Dime$, Jefferson Nickel$ and Lincoln Cents. All the same Mint if possible. Well less than $50 counting freight. Never have seen that before.

Thanks for the chance as well
Please count me in for the win.
Great FUN pix and writeup, @lordmarcovan
Thank you and Randy for this generous giveaway.
I would have suggested a satin Kennedy but due to the fact that a selection has been made, please just count me in.

Cool. Even though it's after the fact, my input would have been a hard times token. Thanks for the chance.
If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

Thanks for a chance at a really nice seated liberty half !!
I did buy a piece that was marked as a HTT. (But it's a CWT.)
That and some other stuff are the prizes in the CoinTalk version of this thread, which is Giveaway #137.
So if y'all do CoinTalk, you're welcome to enter that one as well.
