As many probably know, I still hunt eBay for odd and strange rare bits, many of the Franklin Mint, Royal Mint and eve the French mint. I have found on the average one or two numismatic finds per year. I do have some misses. Here below are a couple of finds from last week, and how they appeared on eBay (can be deceptive):
1984FM Bahamas 25c, probably uncirculated PL, not proof:

But look at these, which I thought to be unknown and uncatalogued 2 1/2 centesimos: 1983 FM and 1984 FM PL uncirculated pieces - these are only known in proof from the sets & are known as "Panama pills" at what I think is 8 mm diameter:

But these are how they looked in-hand:

Verdict:
The 1984FM Bahamas 25c looks legit PL unc with some circulation, the 2 Panamas look like liberated proofs from sets and NOT PL uncirculated - so I missed on these.
One last picture of the two pills:
Well, just Love coins, period.

Outstanding discoveries @7Jaguars ! Those coins need some conservation work and grading and some Phil Arnold style photos.
eBay never disappoints.
I think you meant, eBay never fails to disappoint! 🤪
@pruebas I have bought very good pieces on eBay. I got an Iturbide gold medal from Guatemala for a steal. I got my 1902/inv2 Culiacan Norweb peso there too. MS Iturbide 8R. My1825 CAR 4 escudos. My 1903 Mo MA peso. Some very rare Mexican golds from the First Republic. Just to mention a few. Sure, not every day you find these, but they are there.
Happy Xmas all!
I think eBay for me at least has largely changed. I used to be really great Victorian GB pieces on there but now just kind of going with the hobby part of looking through thousands of coins for the special bit here and there. An "acquaintance" of mine bought about 15 years ago a GB pattern gold sov. for about 2k USD and sold for about 10x that amount - one of the unnamed TPGs body bagged it but evidently Baldwin did NOT feel the same way....
Nothing like that recently although a couple of months ago I did post the VIP Record Proof 1966 Bahamas 9 coin set which I slabbed with hosts
