100$ Gold Seal

Just thought id share this really nice 100$ Gold Seal i picked up. I think there pretty cool and this one is still in excellent condition. I think I'll send it in to get graded the next time I send some coins in. Anyways just like sharing is all. Hope everyone has a good day

    Technically it's called a GOLD CERTIFICATE. :)

    It's tough to see from the pictures, but this bill looks like it would grade PMG-55 or so. Maybe PMG-53 if there are more creases/folds than I can see.

    So this bill probably is worth in the $3,000 range, give-or-take.

    Yes pretty excited about it. I found it in my local coin shop. He had a shit ton of currency and this just came in. No price tag. I asked him what he wanted he said 250 lol I said 225 he said deal. 😁

    That's hard to believe...even if his specialty is coins and not currency, he knows it's a face value of $100 and Gold Certificates -- hell, ANYTHING with gold in it :) -- is valuable. I'm not an expert on GC's but I knew even at the low-range of my grade estimate this thing was worth at least 4-figures.

    He underpriced it by 10-fold !!! :o

    I agree with you fully. I was pretty shocked when he sold it that cheap, especially being a coin shop. I didnt realize it was gonna be worth 3 grand. I did know there worth quite a bit im just not as good at grading bills.

    Just got the results from pcgs, it came back 53.
    Ill post pictures when they come through. It still days being imaged at pcgs.
    Anyways if anyone is interested this bill will be posted for sale on our forum for around 3000$

    Very nice pickup. Had something similar at a coin shop In La Verne, CA, but not that awesome - a couple small size Gold Certificates this past year. a $50 for 225, $100 for 400. The 50 was a nice fine, the $100 was fine, but missing a corner!

    Still not bad.
