George Brett rookie card sales

The 75 Brett, including mini and OPC versions, has long been a card I have followed. mostly in PSA 9. I have noticed the last few months quite an uptick in sold prices. For quite awhile, the regular version had been sitting at the $4,500-$5,500 range. Mini's less, OPC more. very few PSA 9 OPC versions are ever sold, so it is difficult to get a gauge on price.

the last couple of months here are the realized prices I can find. Regular version, Ebay: $7100 and $7300. Fanatics: $6,600 and $6,900.

a few PSA 9 mini versions have also sold in the last few months. Ebay: $4,705 and $7,599. Fanatics: $5,760

both versions are well up since end of August/early September. Not sure if this is a bubble or a trend? I am kind of anxious for the next PSA 9 OPC version to come up.

Pop for each version in PSA 9
regular: 331
mini: 163
opc: 26

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Thanks for mentioning that! I usually check Ebay sold listings and 130point. It didnt show up for me on those, or I just missed it. where did that one sell?

Along with this, I noticed that a seller named PSA had a 1975 Topps mini SGC 10 for auction starting at $10,000, and no one bid on it. Stunning. The topps versions had sold fro $40,000. I don't think sgc and PSA are that far apart are they? It's a pop 2. Card looks great. I don't have that kind of cash to throw around, but one you y'all do.. SOunds like a great deal.

even though there are twice as many regular versions compared to Mini of the PSA 9 in the pop report, the regular version is quite a bit more popular among collectors, so it sells for higher prices. it is funny, because back in the 90s, the rarity of the mini gave it a multiplier in the monthly Beckett. I think it was 1.5X if I remember correctly. for some reason, that multiplier disappeared and the regular version came out on top. that has been in the last 20 years.

if pop counts really mattered for this card, the OPC PSA 9 and its miniscule count of 26 would be 12 times more valuable than the regular version. that, however, is not the case. the OPC sells for more, but not even 2x the regular.

and yes, there is a marked difference between most SGC and PSA prices amongst same grade cards.

The PSA versions have sold for around $40,000. I said it wrong. the 1975 topps mini psa 10's sell for $40,000. $10,000 pop 2 SGC 10 vs psa 10 pop 2 for $40,000

I could not find that listing. Does anyone have it? (for the SGC 10 topps)

    I found this... but Yount.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/306584894446

This is the correct item id but it jumps me to a different listing.

i also tried it and it sent me to an SGC Authentic yount.

i am surprised the Yount you pictured above received a 10 from SGC with the chipping on both the top and bottom edges.

I wonder if the prices are reflection of the PSA registry. Mini and OPC are not allowed to be in the RC set.
IMO that SGC Yount is not a 10. Today PSA would give it an 8. IMO.

I do agree. Just as I also agree with Wednesday, that the registry is a "wasteland of meaningless affirmation"

The ones in PSA 10 holders wouldn't be 10's either today.
