Remember, safety first, and with an adult. (if)
Heat could be the answer to why your coin looks like a Jiffy Pop Corn pan when heat is applied.

Not an error, Just a damaged dime worth 10 cents.
How it was damaged doesn’t really matter, damage is damage.
Heat damage, worth 10 cents.
I think the glue is worth more than the dime.
