So let's talk about the 1975 Topps mini set...

I posted a brief blurb about the Chantilly show, where Stan from Ohio ( big dealer) gave me all the 1975 mini's he had to look at. He had about 100 star cards. For Stan that was incredibly low. As a huge vintage dude, he had stacks of 1966 high numbers for example like about 2000 of them. Stacks of each year of star cards 1000 or more. 5 or 10 of every star card.

He told me that the mini's have dried up or no one is getting rid of them. Very difficult to come across. That struck me as odd. When perusing EBAY, the selection is better than OPC , but way behind the regular set (of course). The cut on the mini's seems to be odd for most of the cards, diamond cut maybe?

Anyways, if you are a fan or collect these cards what has been your experience lately?

Finding minis on eBay has been tough. I picked up a Brett last year that the seller dumped because it had wax on the front surface. Cleaned up nice. Other than that, quality singles, sets or lots are few and far. There are quite a bunch of old cards floating around from ancient case and box breaks. I remember doing breaks here in the forum and many folks wound up with those tilted cards when ripping their packs. Luck of the draw I guess. I bought 6 packs one time and pulled a Brett, but it was skew cut like most.

There are veterans here who know the how's and why's so much product made it into the marketplace a couple decades ago or so.

i think i got a 10 once on a common. it was a pop 2. i still have it. one of my buddies stopped by my office last week and told me he had two mint sets in binders. i have seen one and it was very nice. he was a dealer in the 80's.
