Question about opening 2025 topps bb chrome

Hey guys. I got my son his first box of cards to open and we plan on opening them on his bday tonight watching the game. He picked the 2025 topps chrome from our local store after school and they only had 2 left so we got both. I was thinking maybe save one and give it to him again 10 years from now. He’s 5 so I think when he’s 15 or 16 it might be cooler then for him. Then I remembered modern has redemptions. Is this a issue for not opening this years product? Are the top cards mail in and will this actually go down in value bc of the time issues? And we should just open both and one for the next game?

Open both. Its usually going to be more exciting now because you get a rookie and you can be excited that they may become something.
In 10 years it can be clear that a lot of your exciting fun rookie potential pulls from 10/29/25 did not pan out and then it can be a big yawn when you pull them then compared to now. If they do end up being awesome and fantastic it was fun knowing you had the cards and enjoyed their careers.
I like the idea of one tonight, then saving one for another time. Maybe in 5-6 years when he gets more into the sport and the hobby in general. The cards will seem "vintage"...;)

Hmm. So with the redemption cards expiring at a certain time. Would it be more likely I could just buy this box for less money if I ever wanted to replace the box for a later gift and memory. Say 10 years from now. How important are they in this for unopened value with modern wax? I’m looking at it like pre 1979 unopened. And I’m hoping all the keys are not the mail in things. After 10 years are these basically instantly decreased in value
