Genuine coin. The F is an undeniable 5. Does a significant error coin deserve to be recognized by variety or rarity, regardless of its shape?

Howdy and welcome.
The coin in the image is damaged and the F in "FIVE" appears like a 5 because it got whacked in circulation. We have seen things like this many times in the past and will, no doubt, see many more in the future. Of course, if you are willing to die on the hill of "It's a 5!" then more power to you, but you would be incorrect.

Wow. Ok, Thank you for welcoming me to my post Tom.
Your passive aggressive response is unwarranted. Nobody is "dying on the hill" over a coin.
Condescending is no way to offer insight if you are a Wise Man. Keep that under your Stetson for next time.
Take care Tom.
Classic newbie flameout.
Oh, and welcome.
