I would have held out for $1200. Card has been selling for $1600 recently in PSA 10.

Maybe you left a little meat on the bone. If you are happy that is what matters.

    Yeah, I know.
However, considering the type of Products he traded with me. Goes beyond the $1200 figure.
    $900-CASH
    $400- FINEST
    $150-HERITAGE
    over $10- Supplies

    TOTAL= Over $1460!

    Plus...
The fact I can Pull more GEMS!
    Thanks

At the end of the day, if it works for you, its a win. The trading a Skenes for Skenes possibilities is a little funny though. Standalone, Skenes for Skenes possibilities, I would say no dont do that. Like buying raffle tickets, winning a car, selling the car and buying more raffle tickets. But its a combo deal that can appeal. We could all use some cash sometimes and you value the break so sounds like a nice deal for you.

I thought you did great before I saw the chart.

The chart is only 2 data points though.

Imagine if he was on a team that could make runs. He'd definitely be in the playoffs.

Yes, I'm aware of all that.
    He is a phenomenal player!
    Thanks

That about sums it up. 😬

It reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Peter has the choice between a boat, which is what he really wants, or an envelope that could contain one of a number of prizes, the best of which is a boat. He picks the envelope and wins tickets to a comedy show. 😧

You traded in a top prize for the chance to win a top prize. 😵‍💫 of course, if you do win again, you'll be ahead the $900, which could have been more.... It's the draw and excitement of gambling.

Anyway, if you're happy that's all that counts. And you made that shop owner very happy, so that's your good deed for the week. :)

I think you did great, especially if these were boxes you wanted to purchase anyway. Even if you found a buyer on eBay at 1600 you'd need to pay selling fees which would likely knock your net below 1460. Congratulations on the sale and good luck on the new boxes.

But the 1460 number includes the full retail price of the boxes, doesn't it? Those are very likely money pits...

Maybe the LCS owner waved those boxes at Joey knowing his penchant for ripping wax. And maybe said owner did not have that much money tied up in those boxes. Ones that may be slow movers anyway.

Exactly, I told my wife, I didn't want to go through all the RED TAPE.
    Like you mentioned.

Yeah, even though. I might of grabbed a bad box (NO GEMS) I really did enjoy Ripping! Beautiful Dazzlers and Numbered cards, Rookies and 3 Autographs!
    Too expensive though!
    Thanks again.

Everyone has their own hobby style/approach. The deal sounds good, as I would categorize you as a "flipper" in the hobby. You seem to be looking for hits in your purchases (in lieu of collecting) and enjoy the hunt. You open alot of Wonka bars looking for a Golden Ticket!
