WNBA Drama Dumpster Fire

in Sports Talk
I just saw an update on the news related to the Minnesota Lynx WNBA team. I saw a video of the play in question and the aftermath and my take on it was; good basketball. unprofessional response. Then a player deciding it's time again to talk about salaries. Makes me cringe when I see this stuff cause it's not helping the players. I almost forgot I was watching women's basketball when I saw that play and then... snapped right back to reality.

In the video what's up with the girl holding up the towel. Acting as a shield for Reeves?
They need to hype up as much action as they can since Clark decided not to return for the playoffs lol
I guess so. To protect her from the embarrassment of that meltdown I guess.
Perhaps. I caught it on the local news because I hadn’t flipped yet when watching MLB on Hulu. Seemed like a good play on defense. That coach. Bad look. Then to use that as the platform for “we’re not paid enough”. I’m all for paying WNBA players more. If you’re going to have the league develop it. If you’re not going to do that then don’t have the league. But using that platform to push is going to backfire I think.
I don't follow it but have checked in on it occasionally and what my biggest takeaway is that it's a bush league, it has potential but the way Caitlin Clark was treated by opposing players was criminal the girl endured straight up physical assaults and the referees and league allowed it, and I might be wrong but I absolutely believe it was because she wasn't the same type of person as most of the other woman in the league, I'm sure you get what I'm saying.
Now she is out injured and I am not sure that she decided not to recover from her injury enough to say FU to the league by sitting out which will cost them viewership
That's my gripe with the league is they want to get paid more but until they button up the favoritism, the bush league play and keep it a clean league I don't care if they fold.
Agree there. Clark seems to be punished by the other players and the league.
The league experts her to be some figure-head that launches the WNBA into relevance.
The veteran players seem to be taking out their frustration on her.. Sour grapes... Whatever... But they're blaming the person who is doing the most for the league... It's frustrating to see even if I don't really care what happens.
The new players seem to resent her because of her popularity.
such a dumpster fire.
C'mon people - nobody watches for the basketball experience - that's why they are now going for the WWE format! Just like does anybody now watch NASCAR except for the wrecks?
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
