Nice find and good eye spotting that but it would not be a 1 of 1. It may be the only one certified
but being a variety there would be many more out there, just that no one has sent another in yet
for certification. Not often gold bullion coins are graded.

  • I agree, I'm hoping there are a few more out there. I'm also hoping that the mints qualy dept caught the majority of them. Grade a few more to begin to peek some interest.

I imagine not many folks looking for DDO on a bullion coin, so I'm pretty sure the pops will remain low.

Not to nitpick, but why would they put the reverse up on a coin that’s a double die obverse?

Not sure what you mean by “why would they put the reverse up”.
All modern Canadian coins are medal alignment so the reverse
    is always facing up.

I think that he meant "up" on the cert paper. Most TPG's always have the OBV with the cert... maybe to show it's Canada?

  • I sent this coin in for grading and authentication a year ago
March. And when I came back it was reverse forward. I was told that was how they did it. But that around the end of last year they were going to start placing the obv forward. Well I sent the coin for attribution in August and I came back reverse forward again. So I don't know if what they said was right or if they just left this one the way it was originally.
