Abraham Lincoln Letter

Hello,

This is my first time to this forum. I have a friend whose family just found what appears to be an original letter from Abraham Lincoln to a state Senator with which he signed at the bottom of the letter. Can anyone provide some advise on a couple things:

  1. Who is the best source to authenticate the letter.
  2. Who would be the best auction house to sell the letter.

    For something like this I'd recommend Heritage Auctions out of Dallas, TX

    I'd also post a photo here. It might save you some wasted time and embarrassment, or it might also give you a huge boost in expectations. ;)
