Does anyone have an EPSON scanner? *This does have to do with this forum*

So we set it up about 3 days ago (it's an EPSON Perfection 1660 Photo scanner) and I have tried scanning * cards * to e-mails but the only choices are Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express 6 and I have neither. So is it possible to make AOL a choice? and if so, how?

  • Hi,

Why dont you scan the card to your desktop and then attach the file to your e-mail.
LMK if you need more help.

  • after scanning, go to save, , make sure you save it as a jpeg, and save it to a file, like My pics, or what ever. (you can create a folder in your "my documents". then save it to that folder. then go to your email, and somewhere on there, (depends on your email service), click attach file, then it will bring up your folders, click on the folder, click on the file(picture), and there ya go

  • Yeah. But I need to know how to have AOL as one of my choices cause I don't have the other two mail service things.
  • dont save it like that, just save it as a jpeg, in a folder, then in a seperate window, pull up AOL, go to your email, then when composing a new email, somewhere on there, there will be an icon(maybe a paperclip), and you click it, then it will let you select the folder, and pic, and it will insert it for you

  • go to my documents, and create a new folder, and name it my pictures

  • LOL. Do you have an EPSON scanner?
  • bahhhh...jackson..after you scan the pic..save(as)(jpeg) it in a folder, then when your online..go to write mail...then you'll see attach on the bottom left or right, from there you find the file (browse), then ok, then ok..then send...should work...if not..get a book...lol

  • LOL. I can't do that on this scanner. Maybe it's not like your super dee duper one, rodneyimage

    So, what i do is:

    1. Click "Scan To E-Mail"
    2. After it is done i click "Finish"
    3. I get screwed up cause the only two choices on what e-mail thing to use are Outlook Express 6 and Microsoft Outlook and I have neither...I need to have AOL be one of the choices but I dunno how to make it one.

  • is there another option to scan to? instead of scan to email?...you should have another place to scan to..like in a folder? maybe its b/c its EPSON...LOL j/k
  • LOL. Yeah. I can also scan to the printer (like a copier machine), or to the web.
  • first option: throw away scanner

second option: go to epson.com and trouble shoot

first answer, NO and you are answering why I don't have one......
  • another thing you can do - scan it to Outlook Express 6 and then save the image on your desktop. I dont have an epson scanner but I am familiar with scanners, are you using the software that came with your scanner? If you have windows 95 or higher you can use windows imaging software. Click on the start menu, Programs Folder, Accesories Folder, Click on Imaging. In the program click on Scan New, located in the upper left corner. Hope this helps.

  • It doesn't matter what scanner you have. Just scan it-save it-attach it. simple.
