is Kane04 on EBAY the owner of Gem Grading (or used to be the owner)?

He has a bunch of them listed and has sold a bunch. i can't imagine someone hoarding up that many of them unless he got them really cheap over the years.

I would recommend not buying from that guy. He trims cards and self slabs. It’s really scammy. He’s been known for many years so I expect others will confirm.

20 yrs ago I would've said no but today? Anything's possible.

    Here's a remark 20 yrs ago by a member here - re: Kane04

I hate kane04. Jeremy B. is a tool! I always wondered how much stuff he has and how much
stuff he butchers per day. He has everything....gem grading, psa, bgs, etc. Probably all the stuff
that got turned down by the legit company ends up in GEM.

I referenced a run in with him over 20 yrs ago and he called me up. He was OK to talk with but his point was obfuscated beyond recognition; pretty much he's saying: "I just sell'em and it's on GEM".

I'm surprised he's still in biz - a good chunk of his cards were GEM graded at one time I believe? One thing I found funny? When he referred to me in an email - he called me "Sparky" - now that's funny.

🏢 GEM Grading: Then and Now

GEM Grading, originally based in the United States, has since relocated to Bergamo, Italy. They offer card grading services with a focus on speed and affordability, providing two grading tiers:
Fast Grading: Priced at €12, this service includes a custom label with only the grade on the front and a generic QR code on the back.
Standard Grading: Priced at €15, this service includes a custom label with a digital identity and a QR code on the back.

    Gem Cards:

They accept payments via credit card, PayPal, or in-person at their store in Bergamo.
    ⚠️ Reputation and Concerns
Despite their operational status, GEM Grading has faced significant criticism within the collecting community. Many collectors and industry professionals have reported that GEM Grading has been known to grade altered or counterfeit cards and assign them high grades, such as 10s, without proper scrutiny. This practice has led to widespread skepticism about the authenticity and reliability of their grading.

    🧠 Bottom Line
While GEM Grading is operational, their credibility is highly questionable. If you're considering using their services, it's advisable to proceed with extreme caution. For more reliable and widely accepted grading services, you might want to consider companies like PSA, Beckett Grading Services, or CGC.
