Hi! New here and have an interest in coins. Came across this Arizona State Quarter that has some interesting damage. Just curious on thoughts as to what happened or was done to it. Thanks!

From my view, it was damaged by a machine. Rolling, counting or other. The rim , as well as poor George are indicators.
But, if you could find a 2009-D District of Columbia Territorial Quarter like this
