Some nice looking stuff!
Looks like a great collection! This batch seems as if it's almost all 20th century pieces, are there any bust/seated coins in future groups?
@fluffy155 it's mostly post-1850s material, not much Seated or Bust that I know of, maybe a Bust dime or so.
@Yorkshireman thanks, totally agree!

I just scrolled through the 400 coins listed on GC from your collection and bid on a few. Some amazing coins.
I am curious roughly what percentage of those were submitted raw over the years or were most purchased in slabs?
@giorgio11 , now that these hundreds of coins are safely in the hands of GC, has your good friend Terry removed these coins from his various Registries (such as PCGS, MyCollect, NGC, or CAC) as being active (or Retired his sets containing each of these coins)? Thanks.
Steve

@winesteven Hi Steve. Terry and I are in process of retiring his sets before the auctions close at PCGS. We may wait until all the auctions are finished at MyCollect, or not: The mechanism for removing those coins is still TBD. None of the coins/sets are listed at CAC. But one way or another, we'll make sure that any winning bidders can easily add their coins to their own sets within a short time after successful bids. And thanks for asking! Kind regards, George
Most of them were slabbed purchases. Thanks for the nice compliment and the bids! Kind regards, George
Not bad, but what about the MyCollect Registry participants who buy his coins? Will they be forced to wait to notify MyCollect that they have those coins, and then possibly have to take the time to photo those coins with a time dated photo, then take the time to upload those, then take the time to email them to MyCollect? It sounds a little selfish to make fellow collectors have to do any extra work unnecessarily, especially if they bought HIS coins!!!!! If it were me (and most other collectors), I would absolutely Retire all of those sets before the first auction ends on 9/7, since I have consideration for my fellow collectors!
Separately, we know from super long threads on the PCGS Set Registry Forum there are some collectors that absolutely will not bid on coins that have not yet been released from the prior owners sets. That's why EVERY time I consign coins for sale, once the coins are safely in the hands of the auction house, I mark those coins in my Registry as sold!
Yes, I may sound harsh, but believe it or not, that's how to be fair to your fellow collectors!!!

@winesteven I should have said, I'm exploring what can be done at MyCollect. I'm well aware of collectors who (understandably) want coins to be available before bidding on them, and I don't want to inconvenience anyone. But this is a massive collection, and it's not like we are selling all of one set and then moving on to the next set. So each set will be getting smaller over time. How do you retire part of a set at MyCollect? At this point, I'm not sure what is doable at MyCollect. But I'm working on it.
That's wonderful!
My understanding at MyCollect is specific coins can be moved to "sold"/retired, but the individual sets themselves only fully retired or not retired. If you're retiring coins from a set, the point value would drop, so most of us in that situation will retire each set just prior to coins from that set are getting sold.
I'll be in this situation myself in 2030 (if i live that long) as that's when I'll be selling my collection. As such, I'll retire sets just prior to any coins in that set being sold. By retiring a set (and the accompanying coins in that set), then I won't have to take the time to individually mark each separate coin as sold. It's all done automatically at the time the set is "Retired". At least that's my understanding.
Thanks.
Steve
