This might be the only chance in a generation or more to buy the only such specimen known.
Heritage Auctions is handling the unreserved sale. Viewing of the item can be conducted in-person at the ANA World's Fair of Money Oklahoma City coin show (19-23 August 2025). Proxy (internet) bidding is open now. The final live auction ending will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 26 August, 2025 :

Kudos to RWB given his past animosity...but I am very curious how that conversation went...

Jeez...unbelievably uncalled for. It's clearly personal and has been for some time.

I'm surprised he was willing to authenticate the bronze model or even how he was approached since it appears (based on the lot description) that he knew the model belonged to you.

    .

Yes, especially since the item in question is a fund-raiser for an educational coin club, and I simply produced the design that the club wanted.

Sometimes, it just isn't possible to figure out what is going on in someone's head.
He made a similar comment on that forum about the previous Madison County Coin Club medal.

I started documenting all the posts when I was forced to respond to Burdette's attempt to get me expelled from the ANA. In case this whole thing ever blows up (again) I have continued to document all the comments posted. All the ugly details are shown here (but don't bother reading unless you have some time to waste on low-level "entertainment"):

Thats OK, just censor/remove the "unpopular" free speech, seems to be the norm these days. For the record I'd personally bid about $3.88 max. Expensive clay pigeon. RGDS!

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

There is no such thing as “free speech” on a privately owned forum. This isn’t a public sidewalk.

Awesome piece...I wish my '21 had the detail that it has! Really shows the wonderful design plan of the reverse. Keeping an eye on the auction but with a kid in college :(

It's disturbing that the ANA even took his complaint seriously. His accusations were, as you stated, without standing and defamatory. Perhaps he is the one who should have been expelled.

    .

In my rebuttal to the ANA, I pointed that out. But I did not call for the ANA to take any such action towards Burdette.
Nine years later in 2023 the ANA board bestowed upon Burdette the "Numismatist of the Year" award. Even after that, Burdette has continued to write a few posts disparaging the ANA.
