Gold is too heavy to own compared to bitcoin

Michael Saylor, Strategy executive chairman, talks about why he thinks it's safer to invest in Bitcoin rather than gold. He says the digital version of gold, Bitcoin, is better than the actual physical gold because you can't put a tariff on something in cyberspace. He speaks on "Bloomberg Open Interest."

"Bitcoin is digital gold that's going to accelerate the migration of capital from physical gold to digital gold. You know, Bitcoin lives in cyberspace. No tariffs and cyberspace."

"The big appeal of Bitcoin is it's not physical. It doesn't have weight."

"You can settle anywhere with anybody in a few minutes. And so gold has always been too heavy, too slow, you know, And you can't really ship it across an ocean. And if you do now, you're getting tariffs."

"So I really think it just reminds everybody why the digital version of gold is better than the than actual physical gold."

Gold is too heavy to own? We better empty out Fort Knox before it's too late. ;)

You may not be able to put a tariff on something in cyberspace, but you can force companies to report transactions (1099) and you then have to pay tax on it.
    Same thing.

And yet, not a soul has transacted with it in my shop in 16 years with one exception. A regular customer wanted to trade a Casasius (sp) for 25 oz of gold, once. Happens to be the same guy who swapped his $122 grand in his 401k for 80 oz of gold and 1000 silver eagles about ten years ago sent to a depository. Millions in cash , checks , PayPal, Venmo, master card, visa …… not a morsel of bitcoin or crypto used to buy, sell or trade. Bitcoin and crypto doesn’t compare. The rich and wealthy haven’t made the transition to use it for transactions, in my world, yet. So I figure it is scared money , locked away in the rich man’s mind.
I have had a few sell me all their r gold to buy bitcoin. But they didn’t want Bitcoin for gold in my shop. And they don’t want to buy gold with Bitcoin. The entire comparison is for naught.

From what I was reading today, Kinesis is digital gold. Bitcoin isn't directly convertible to gold. Kinesis is, anywhere in the world. Sounds interesting.

Ok, what happens when the grid goes down? You have BitCoin but you can't access it. Better have a few bars of REAL money lying around.

What happens when someone forgets the password to their digital wallet? What happens when someone becomes cognitively impaired or passes away, and their family doesn't even know they owned Bitcoin or a similar digital creation? 🤔

The same thing that happens when they don't recall where they hid their gold and the family doesn't know they had it or where it is.

Yes it does, but the gold is eventually rediscovered some day by someone.

I'm partial to the movie Life (2017) only because the alien lifeform kills Ryan Reynolds (spoiler alert)
