Hi all-
I’ve been a longtime lurker here and figured it was finally time to join and introduce myself. I collected heavily from 1986-1991 and fed my habit by working at the local card shop during that time. A large portion of my collection was stolen from my parents’ house when I was in college. About 15 years ago I finally had enough disposable income to replace some of the stolen cards and purchase other cards that I always wanted as a kid but couldn’t afford (84D Mattingly, 84TT Gooden, etc). I didn’t really get back into collecting at that time though. It wasn’t until the last couple years that I really got the bug again. I’m primarily interested in low-to-mid grade vintage baseball. I can’t believe how the hobby has exploded since COVID and am thankful that the new stuff doesn’t interest me so I don’t have to keep up with all the different sets and seemingly infinite parallels.
Because I thoroughly enjoy looking at all of your cards, here’s a picture of my most recent pickup. I’m really pleased with the coloring and centering on this one. There’s some light staining on the white border of the front, left side of the card. It doesn’t bother me and is likely what kept this from grading a little higher.
I’ve learned a lot from reading your posts and appreciate the knowledge you all have to share.
