This came in a collection I purchased and I can't seem to figure out what it is. Appears copper, maybe?

It is indeed ancient. Specifically, a Late Roman Bronze of emperor Constantine II. Reverse GLORIA EXERCITVS (Glory of the Army), two soldiers with spears, legionary banner between. Mintmark illegible.
