Detroit !...
Not sure what I think yet.

What’s funny is the violent crime rate in Detroit has dropped over 30% in the last 24 months and it’s still one of the worst major cities in the U.S.

If they had the national north in Sterling Heights or Rochester that would be ok though. Like Chicago it’s no where near downtown. There it would be better if it was on the loop.

I remember Detroit. We did a trade show there years ago in the basement of the Joe Louis Arena. They showed us all around the place, it was pretty cool. Very cool, in fact we were directly beneath the hockey rink. I was the ticket manager and collected all the cash for a 3-day event. I spent each day in a private room, counting money. By the time Sunday was done, I was shlepping almost 100K back to the hotel in a backpack with a bevy of big, mean coordinator ladies protecting me from harm. Made it home safe and sound. ;)

    Farewell Ryno.

Chicago is a shithole. Detroit would be a upgrade.

Not sure I completely agree with you on Chicago, but I have used many different alleyways as a urinal.

    Farewell Ryno.

Baltimore and Detroit are both struggling with crime. St. Louis and Memphis are much worse. Cleveland has serious economic issues to go along with high crime rates. Every major city has its blights to manage and some are better than others. But even in Memphis they could have the convention in Germantown area.

Chicago has a significant police presence downtown since the pandemic unrest. Everywhere you go you hear whoop whoop whoop.

Huntington Place and the surrounding downtown have undergone a remarkable gentrification over the past 15 years with a lot of new hotels and some great restaurants nearby. Dealers and attendees are going to be pleasantly surprised.

Most of Detroit's crime occurs in areas of the city that are dead with little hope of recovery for the foreseeable future.

    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
