this insurance issue is one to bring up in surveys. at the very least they could sell insurance
Are you saying that using Budget Shipping at $9.90 and I don't sign for it and he gets "LOST" The Mint doesn't replace it?
Are any of the shipping options insured?
I would think since it is signature required and if you don't get it you and you didn't sign for it you can do a charge back with your credit card company. No signature ,,,,, you win.
Actually the Mint's disclosure states that 'although you can opt for signature verification of delivery, the delivery service may or may not require a signature for delivery. And basically it is not the Mint's problem.'
Congrats to all those that bought that cute golden face !
BTW collect pure went up a bit $25) in its bid Highest Bid
$2,300.00
There will be some available tomorrow morning (more than likely)...credit card mishaps, cancellations, or some other hijinx, but probably only available for about a minute.
I called the Mint tonight to ask about the Signature policy and what happens if the product is not delivered to you by the Carrier, as in lost? She said, that it is the Mint’s policy that all products over $300 do require a signature upon delivery. If a signature does not happen because the Carrier no longer has the product, the Mint will have you sign and submit a non-receipt form. The process will take 4-6 weeks and a full refund will be provided.
I know that is not what someone else posted earlier tonight. Has anyone had this experience with a lost delivery?

Yes. I have a couple years ago with a proof Morgan and Peace dollars coins order. As you stated, except I don't even think I had to submit the non-receipt form, they took all the info by phone as I recall.
Im actually pretty jazzed about this issue. Unlike the gold kennedy half or the 2016 Centennial issues of the dime, quarter, and walking half, I think this one is a little more interesting. Like another poster mentioned, these just remind me of the gold issues they struck and sent into space. Golden dollars struck in actually gold are so much more appealing then the other mentioned coins, because they were intended to be struck in silver and look strange in gold. These were always golden colored.
Plus, Ive always liked this design. Especially the reverse.

You better flip it fast, word on street from reliable sources is a couple of major players were allocated these, so they did not have to get thier staff's to place orders to procure several.

Back when they did the $1 coin direct ship program, had to be more than 10 years ago, I had a box containing 2 $250 boxes of dollars show up completely empty. No signature required and the box had what appeared to be poke holes in it and if I remember right the tape was sliced and re taped. I called the mint and they sent me the non receipt form and refunded my money. That form is still on their website despite the not responsible for lost items language that seems to have been recently added.

I’m keeping mine, I’ve always loved this coin design. But how would that work, we could see the amount available for sale last night, and this thread was watching the inventory sell throughout the day.

Agree - this was an impulse buy for me for some of the same reasons you state. It wasn't even on my radar a week ago that I'd be buying this thing!

Was thinking the same thing when I bought yesterday. Can remember buying the 2006 AGE and ASE sets and thinking they were really pricey now I feel old.

Yours has a scratch they found it under a desk.
Personal reasons. The stock photos will do just fine! I am just curious since the mint has been adding depth on the release like superman etc.

someone had to place an order for records and accounting
but starting with the full ats may not mean the abpp missed out
I'm with you. ATS started when I checked it at 7438 and dropped gradually all day. I'm pretty sure there were no bulk purchases.

HHL still shows 1 so I believe the mint will cancel duplicate orders from the same address.
