It is sad news that Ozzy Osbourne died. Part
Of me can’t believe he does but the other part can’t believe that he lived this long. About 20
Years ago I had to chance to meet him at OzzFest. I have two pictures with him. One is of us standing nice , then he says”let’s get crazy” and begins to choke me. I was able to get him to sign it at a later date.

Saw him in 1986 on The Ultimate Sin Tour and again in 2016 on Black Sabbath's The End tour. His voice was and lyrics were integral part of my life, and he will be missed. RIP Prince of Darkness.
Huge Ozzy and Sabbath fan here. Not the greatest voice in rock n roll but a legendary front man. I got to see him in 1981 at the Palladium in NYC touring off the Blizzard album (Motorhead opened!), again in 1984 at MSG (Bark at the Moon tour), then later at the 2001 Ozzfest tour (playing with Black Sabbath and doing all their old stuff) and lastly in MD in 2010 with my then 13 year old son.
We all knew it was coming but he will be sorely missed.

Wow I have a lot in common with you guys. Been singing/karaoke Ing Ozzy for about 20 years. Performed "War Pigs" at a local pub the night he passed. Was in a Facebook group of WORLD's BEST Angry birds players... The group was titled "War Pigs"...Forever rock on Mr. Osbourne

Great to see folks still have a collection of old tickets from their favorite shows. I kept most of mine. Remember when the color of a MSG ticket meant something and corresponded to the section/seat color. I hate today's online tickets.
The MSG seats were red, orange, yellow, green and blue, n order rising from the lower level. For hockey, there was pride in being a blue-seater (kind of like, "I'm blue collar and can't afford those fancy red seats") and there was many a chant of "Red seats suck!" back in the day.
Never mind the other blue seat chanting, 'Potvin sucks', even after he retired, lol. I wasn't sure if it was R-O-Y or R-Y-O but knew the rest.
I don’t say this as a knock on Ozzy, but he was fortunate to work with two different great lyricists (Geezer Butler wrote all the Sabbath lyrics and Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics for his first several solo albums). For a long time I was unaware of this because the style of their lyrics was so similar I just assumed Ozzy wrote them both.
Anyway, I have loved Sabbath since 1979 and I’ve been revisiting all those great albums over the past week. RIP to a true original!
I just realized that he didn't write the lyrics also doing some research after he passed. Always assumed he did. But he know how to craft those lyrics into a great song and how the accompanying music should be composed.

I am in Deep Mourning over Ozzy. I will always remember Cutting School in the early 70's and listening to BSBS Album until we wore it out. in the ensuing years I have worn out many many of his albums. In the army in 1974 at Ft. Lee Va, they had a Library with albums you could listen to with headphones. The only Sabbath album they had was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Just before I left the Library guy told me the Album wouldn't play anymore, I had literally worn off part of the grooves.
I have seen OZZY 3 times and Sabbath another 7 times all with OZZY, most recently a couple years ago here in Phoenix. Twice at Red Rocks, (Side Note I was also at the U2 Under A Blood Red Sky Concert film) & I was at the famous OZZY Rain Concert where he never slowed down! Lived 3 miles from Red Rocks for 16 years and saw probably 500+ concerts there.
He will be missed and cherished as he meant so much to me in some of my growing years.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is my favorite Black Sabbath album. My introduction to it though was in the early 90s.

My favorite Sabbath album is one with RJD...Heaven and Hell.

Im a big RJD fan but that is a rather mean spirited comment in an Ozzy RIP type thread.
