What are the worst commemorative designs of the Forever Stamp era?

MY votes go to:

The Ameripex Stamp Show issues from the teens. Stunningly unoriginal and bland.

The Alex Trebeck stamp. Just a very odd looking issue. What were they thinking?

The Army, Navy and Marine Corps stamps that are currently on sale. (These strike me have been rushed into production. Just think of how interesting they could have been if they depicted things like uniforms over the years or Navy ships from 1775 to the present. I would love to have seen a USS Vesuvius stamp depicting the Spanish-American War Pneumatic Cruiser among other ships.)

All glory is fleeting.

I agree, the Ales Trebeck stamp was a terrible design. It should have at least had his picture on it. It is more of a Jeopardy commemorative than an Alex Trebeck commemorative.

It may well be the worst US stamp design ever.

    I think it is.

It was poorly done, I think a 1st grader could have done a better design job!

My post office person hates the Alex Trebeck stamps because no one will buy them. I pick up a sheet once in a while to help her get rid of them. A nice portrait of him, like the one in the margin of the sheet, would have been better. The gimmicky clue could have been used in marketing materials for the stamp.

But let's not forget this gem from 1981. When people used it were they calling the recipient an alcoholic? 🤔

I had forgotten about the Alcoholism stamp. It is another contender for worst stamp design of all time!

I don't want to hijack the thread but I'll add a couple stamps that simply didn't age well.

Those stamps actually fit well in the social environment of 1969 and 1974 respectively. I agree that they would not fit well if issued today. So far as their actual design goes I think they are well done.

That alcoholism stamp was also kind of pointless.
