Newsflash! The grades just came in, and this coin was just upgraded with a PLUS by PCGS to a MS63+ via Reconsideration. Once I get the coin back, I’ll be sending it to CAC in NJ to get their sticker automatically reapplied!
This is a two year Type Coin (1873 and 1874) with Arrows. The arrows were placed on the obverse to let the public know that the silver weight was increased very slightly from what it had been.
I'm selling this because I just purchased an upgrade to MS64+ for this two year Type coin w/Arrows.
CAC does not keep sticker records separating whole grades from plus grades. There are a total of 72 coins dated 1874 in this MS63 grade (52 by PCGS and 20 by NGC) and 3 coins graded 63+ (1 by PCGS and 2 by NGC). Of those 75 coins graded MS63 or MS63+, only 7 have a CAC sticker, and this is one of those 7. As noted, it appears to be the only coin graded 63+ by PCGS.
My price is $3,495 via regular PayPal (NOT Friends & Family), OR $3,395 via check (IF I know you well from this Forum, and excellent references are provided).
With PayPal the coin will be shipped out quickly, but if via check, about a week after the check is received. With either payment method, shipping is free (FedEx Priority Overnight if being shipped NOT to a PO Box, or Priority Mail if to a PO Box). I will only sell for a shipping address in the U.S. Either shipping method will require a signature upon delivery.

It's like one gets almost all the coin at MS64 except a trivial detail, but for an MS63 price.
Actually, now I'm asking a bit more than what I started out asking before the plus upgrade, But yes, even at the current price, it's still significantly less than a PCGS MS64 w/CAC!
