Exercise extreme caution when buying or selling, as there have been hacked accounts here recently

And from what I can tell, this has also occurred on other coin sites.

    Thanks

I have no coins for sale so if anyone contacts you about selling coins with my user ID it is fake.

I have no bullion for sale and have no plans to sell bullion.

Agreed. I would urge members to refrain from doing any buying or selling of the sort until the moderators work the issue out.

I wonder how the Hacker picked his targets. I believe the security here is pretty strong. This is probably a good reminder for folks to change their passwords.

Pure speculation....it appeared to be a complete take over....possibly a common shared password between sites/email accounts?

I was in touch with one person from another forum, who said multiple coin-related accounts of his were hacked. I don’t know whether it involved a shared password but your speculation seems very reasonable.

    100%
I am not nor will I be selling anything here on listing items here for the unforeseeable future.

If anything pops up otherwise, it isn't me.

if you can't log in you've been hacked. I suspect the hacker(s) is stealing info upon login. Simply stay logged in. Never log into any account from a link in an email.

I have nothing for sale, and no sales planned.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

How long do you think will this thing last?

I just thought since this has been happening elsewhere, someone might have some insight.

I can state with absolute certainty that there will be some people who try to take things that don't belong to them for as long as the human race exists.

I see this sad situation as being a good reminder to all of us. With the nature of what we deal with, we must be very careful with our own security. Change your passwords over time and don't use the same password for more than one site. Make it hard for the bad guys that want to come at you.

I believe we all get lazy on this topic because we have not had any problems. That's like leaving your front door to your home unlocked. Someone will find it and take advantage of it.
