On the easel...

Hey everyone!
Hope y'all are doing well and enjoying the start of summer.
It's been a looooong time since I've posted on here, as things have been super busy on my end, and as a result, I've fallen behind on pretty much ALL message board activity. I guess the whole idea of life happening and all...and by "life", I mean marriage, children being born, and navigating this thing called my "middle age." Woof.
Anywho, I used to have a pretty large thread on here about the stuff that was going in my studio, mostly finished works and in-progress stuff. I've been able to find an abbreviated version of the thread, which I imagine was cut or something since I haven't posted anything in a long time. But, yeah, I kinda figured that I'd give it another try and see if I can get back to posting somewhat regularly.
So, I thought I'd start doing one image at a time, as it's less overwhelming for me to upload and post when I'm just talking about one image, as opposed to a batch of them (even though I'd rather put them all up there).
I'll start here, with Henry Louis Aaron:
Henry Aaron, May 1957, 34" x 22"
This commission was based on a George Silk photograph that's currently in the LIFE Magazine archives (soon to be back with Getty from what I understand). I always thought the image itself was pretty iconic, with Aaron looking huge against the background of Wrigley, and in my head, the viewer's eyes could go straight to that red #44. That being said, there's still a lot of interesting texture throughout, whether it's the grain in the bat, the dirt, the ivy, the grass, and even some fun color in the guys on the field...it's just chock full of fun stuff. In the end, hopefully I did the image, and Henry, justice.
Hope y'all dig it, and please, if you have any questions, comments, critiques, or curses to throw my way, feel free to do so!! You can also email me at gkreindler@gmail.com.
Thanks everyone, as always.

That is fantastic...Aaron and Wrigley...it really captures the 50's baseball feel.
Hiya Graig
Hard to believe but I think you're already great work is getting better!
It's as good as anything I've ever seen and no, not being obsequious.
Just a beautiful piece of art of my all time favorite player. Very, very nice!
Thank you so much for all of the kind words, everybody!! So very much appreciated. For serious.
