Great Britain- Victoria Rules: 1887 YH Halfcrown In the Raw

Finally I took delivery of this coin - IMHO Beautiful although my poor OLD iPhone 11 can not begin to show the PL status of it, and in hand no friction but a cpl of tiny bagmarks - I took a cpl pics as it came out of packing & bit of acetone and “Bob’s your uncle”:
Before -

After:

A tough coin... It will be interesting to see how it might grade in view of the PL surfaces. I suspect it might look better in hand

It really does, wish you could have seen it but did not have it in hand yet. The top picture probably gives the best idea, but the surfaces are so prooflike (so clean and much moreso that these crappy pictures show) and great contrast on devices! I guess it will wait until the November show...

Tough coin to find in the raw, especially with prooflike surfaces (which makes it pop but can be so hard to photograph). Definitely worth the wait to grade, but November will require patience!

Uggh, trying for better pictures, still not showing as well as I'd like:

Beautiful coin. I have a young head 1887 half, but nothing like that one. Can you share around what you paid?

The pardon is for tyrants. They like to declare pardons on holidays, such as the birthday of the dictator, or Christ, or the Revolution. Dictators should be encouraged to keep it up. And we should be encouraged to remember that the promiscuous dispensation of clemency is not a sign of political liberality. It is instead one of those valuable, identifying marks of tyranny.

Uggh, that is the ugly bit. They also charged 24% commission and ended up 830 pounds plus shipping. More than I meant to.

A couple of the earlier set of post-acetone pics seem to show a lot of die polishing lines. Scarce to find reflective like this.
