Convicted today and he received a 2 year suspended sentence.

can you imagine? 2 year suspended sentence.

the mother, who was involved in the coverup and supplying her daughter to Franco, received a 10 year sentence.

amazing what money and influence can do...

That way too lenient sentence is totally unacceptable.

    I agree, 100%.

If he abides by his probation terms, he will not spend a day in prison.

    insane.

I sure hope this decision gives the Rays/MLB enough to completely void his contract so he at least cannot be wildly wealthy after all this.

Wealth allows people to pretty much do whatever they want to do with a chance of suffering minimal repercussions. We see it daily in the news, whether it be out highest elected officials, celebrities or sports figures. Nothing surprises me anymore. I'm certainly no Choir Boy but it strikes me that the more money an individual has the lower the potential for their moral code.

The problem is that there are different types of justice in the system, you got hard left judges and hard right judges, also the justice system leaves too many variables for smart lawyers to dissect and use in their favor.

In other words the system needs more standard procedures rather than all the variables that are allowed to float around unsettled

Lawyers are smart and they know which judge to go to for whatever it is they need and guys like this jerk dont mind paying for what they need done.

Keep in mind this trial was in another country and people often underestimate how corrupt some of these other countries are. That sentence is clearly a joke

If the girl was ever in the USA with him he could be prosecuted again in the States.

Either way MLB has more than enough to issue him a life time ban, especially when they wont let teams sign Bauer for being critical of Manfred.

I doubt he ever plays another inning in MLB or gets another penny from the Rays.

What a joke. Happy to see he's ruined his MLB career. Good riddance,
