TIL that Freddie Freeman is Eddie Murray!

I was reading a different baseball forum and a poster mentioned the extreme similarity between the two players.
Today I learned:
Freddie Freemans most similar player according to baseball referenceś similarity score for the first TWELVE years of his career is Eddie Murray!!! And each year has at least a 915 score!!

that is insane. I dont have nearly the time to look, but I just cant imagine any other 2 players being more similar.

what is more, Eddie played the most career games at 1b and Freddie is currently at 15 but could be in the top 5 by the end of next season.

Freddie has also been remarkably ¨steady¨ over the years statistic-wise. should we start calling him ¨steady freddie?¨

I dont know if he will be able to make it to 3000/500 like eddie, but he may have an outside chance if he can stay healthy.

Eddie and Freddie, brothers from another mother.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

I always saw him as a Fred McGriff type. Player you definitely want on your team but I dont think hes getting to 500 HRs at his age with what he needs and the parks hes playing in. I like him as a player a lot and think he ends up in the HOF, but SD and SF are brutal for lefties power wise.

I could see 3000 hits if he stays healthy

I agree about him most likely not making it to 500 HR. I also like him as a player and enjoyed seeing him excel last season in the WS.

health will play a big role, but he is less than 700 hits away from 3k

I could see the 3k hits. 700 is still kind of a lot for a 35 year old. Maybe he closes the gap to about 600 by the end of the year but thats still a lot at 36 to need a t least one 200 hit season to get there.

Chances are he gets close but not quite there.
