Awesome Experience at the Las Vegas Card show last weekend

A long story short: Took my son to Vegas for his 21st birthday, which was a blast in itself, I arrived on Saturday 6/14 when in the cab from the Airport to the Hotel i thought I would check to see if there was any Card shows happening this Weekend and low behold the Las Vegas card show was happening. So, wake up on Sunday after a long night of drinking "Water" and go to the card show. First, we walked around looking and chatting with the vendors that were there then after the first round we started buying.
(My Baseball Card collecting has come to a stop for a bit, my kids got me into Pokemon lol)
Purchased some unopened material and started ripping, A gentleman started recording me for his YouTube Channel opening the packs of cards and BAM pulled a massive hit not even 10 min later was at another table and BAM pulled another massive hit. It was defiantly a lucky day maybe not with gambling at the casino but with opening packs. Such a rush just to pull the cards from the packs with all the screaming and people watching at the event actually taking place and what made it better was it was all recorded thanks to the gentleman recording. Thought I would share the experience and show the video to you all. I was the one wearing the Vote for Pedro shirt which of course makes me look fat and I'm looking old as well LMAO
Here's the video of it taking place, kind of long but you can skip to the good stuff lol

Did you take any pics of the best pulls? If so, would be interested in seeing. Saw a little of the video but couldn't pick the detail up too clearly.

I've enjoyed opening Pokemon packs but limited to certain sets. Loved opening lots of Evolving Skies but have not done much of anything since then. Not very knowledgeable about the last couple years but would be interested in seeing some of the cool stuff. Had fun opening some Team Rocket 1st Edition many years ago before it got very expensive. Had a good time buying a couple of the early sets in decent condition, Fossil 1st Edition and the regular Unlimited, while they were more affordable.

    Congrats on the pulls.

Thanks. Very nice. Seen that Charizard before and contemplated getting it. Its probably doubled or tripled in value since I considered it.

That Umbreon is wild. Incredible color. Dont think I've seen that one.

The Charizard is around 400 raw and the Umbreon is around 1300 Raw. In a PSA 10 he Charizard is around 800-900 and the Umbreon is around 2500-3000. Once I got home i did send to BGS in hopes of the black label, that will just add to the story dramatically lol

Best of luck on those. Have not tried BGS on Pokemon (other stuff yes) but I get it. Black Label would be a nice look.

I know there has been a lot of negativity surrounding PSA grading recently. Folks saying done with vintage or 80s. I just sent in 10 cards in a special but probably hanging up my spurs on vintage after that too.

I will say while there have been some disappointing grades recently, PSA has done me extremely well when grading TCG over the last 7 years. I would theorize maybe because that is the business they want most. I feel like if you flip the card over and dont see chipping where there are little flecks of white on the blue and the card is reasonably centered, often you have a 10. You may have more experience with this than me but just something to keep in mind if the BGS results are not as expected. With cards that valuable the multiple subs wont set you back.

I just dropped off some much much less valuable Pokemon cards at the Post Office yesterday. Nothing special. Just worth trying for an 18.99 fee.
