1894 Guatemala One Peso Silver Coin: Genuine? Modern Counterfeit, or Contemporary counterfeit?

    I don't have it yet.
    Being shipped to me now.
    Other than correct weight- and I know that plays a factor in deciding if its legitimately genuine, does the overall 'look' set off any red flags?

    Perhaps you have just planted the idea in my head, but the overall "feel" of the piece is modern counterfeit to me.

    I really try my best not to provide an opinion in connection with authenticity without a complete investigation. My recollection is this coin is not rare… it is fairly available in an average circulated grade. Just one observation in the form of a question… Would the multiple rim dings exist on a modern counterfeit?
