Mauritius 1978 Silver

I've been going nuts for an hour trying to figure something out. The 25 rupee from Mauritius 1978, according to NGC, has more silver than the 50. I'm wondering if they have the purities swapped or something. Anyone know about these? I can't find a reliable source for their specs. (I have two of each and was trying to price them.)

No, the stats are correct. The 50 rupee is heavier than the 25, but the 50 is .500 fine silver.
I believe the reason for the discrepancy is the 25 rupees is essentially a continuation of that same denomination from previous years, while the 50 was a first-time issue.

Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
Hah! Trick question there as there were Unc. and proof versions of the 1977 (!) 25 R. Then there is the 1978 proof 25 R .
1977 25 Rupees:
KM 43 - 0.4565 net Ag oz. (Unc)
KM 43a - 0.841 net Ag oz (Proof)
1978 25 Rupees (proof):
KM 44 - 0.841 net Ag oz.
For the 50 Rupees I could only find the 1975:
KM 41 - 0.5168 net Ag oz. (Unc.)
KM 41a - 1.0409 net Ag oz. (proof)
The 50 Rupees was from the Conservation series, so slightly apples to oranges. If you choose 1975 25 Rupees (KM 40 and 40a)
Unc. : 0.4099 net Ag oz.
Proof: 0.841 net Ag. oz.
So I don't actually see a discrepancy when staying with "apples to apples", and that the 50 has more silver than the 25, even if not proportionate to the denomination.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Jag, VERY helpful. I took a closer look. One pair is 1975 25 and 50 rupees, definitely within this year the 50 has more silver as one would think. Of course now I can't find the other pair, I thought I saw 1978 but all bets are off until I find it. I wish the search features on NGC and Numista worked better, and that these databases were more comprehensive. Anyway you put this to rest for now... I'll report back if I can find the other two, which I took to a shop and which subsequently vaporized.
