The DPOTD dates back around 20 yrs or so- perhaps alittle longer. Sometime it was determined that anyone who participates can award a PPOTD. Sapyx deserves it for the thread you cited and there have been several others where assistance was provided.
We need to find the list of past DPOTD winners. It is likely buried here somewhere.

I'm not sure what DPOTD is, but Sapyx is a walking encyclopedia and always happy to help. That deserves an award for sure.
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
"DPOTD" means "Darkside Post of the Day". "Darkside" meaning "World and ancient coins", and "Post of the Day" being a very old-fashioned (if anything on the Internet can be called "old fashioned") public recognition of a particularly outstanding contribution to the day's discussions on a forum or discussion board.
The DPOTD I mention in my sigline I won for my contributions to this 2021 thread about ancient Roman coin fineness, the Roman taxation system, and other ramblings.

Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
Well @Sapyx now you have at least two.

Agree and thank you @Sapyx for your posts - I always learn something!

I agree that @Sapyx is a treasure around here. Not only on the forums but via pm as well. Thank you Sapyx!!
Peace
I humbly accept the acclamation and shall adjust my sigline accordingly.

Has anyone met Sapyx in person? I think he's in Australia. My assumption is, with that encyclopedic knowledge, he looks a lot like this:

I am indeed in Australia, and don't get overseas very often. I visited North America back in 2023 but didn't arrange to meet up with any forum friends, as I was just in South Carolina with my mum visiting some of Mum's friends for a weekend after being in Canada for 3 weeks.
Still, if you come to Brisbane and visit one of the coin club meetings, I'll likely be there. I'm a member of all four clubs in the Greater Brisbane area.
